RustDesk Setup (Quick & Easy)
This will help us configure RustDesk for you so we can provide remote support. After the steps below, stop and tell us you’re ready and we’ll do the rest. ✅
Quick Summary (Most People Just Follow This)
  1. Download and install RustDesk (click Next through the installer).
  2. Open RustDesk and click Settings (upper-right).
  3. Go to Security → click Unlock Security Settings.
  4. Turn on Enable remote configuration modification.
  5. Tell us your RustDesk ID and One-time password.

Step-by-Step: Install & Prepare RustDesk

Take your time. If anything looks different on your screen, that’s okay — just tell us what you see. 🙂


Step 1) Download the RustDesk installer (.msi)
Click the download link we provided. When the download finishes, click the file to open it.
Download the RustDesk MSI installer.

Step 2) Install RustDesk (keep clicking Next)
The installer will open. For most people, you can simply click the Next button all the way through the installation.
If Windows asks “Do you want to allow this app to make changes?”, click Yes.

Step 3) Open RustDesk and click the Settings button
Open RustDesk. Then click the Settings button in the upper-right corner.

Step 4) Go to Security and click “Unlock Security Settings”
In Settings, click the Security tab, then click Unlock Security Settings.

If Windows asks for permission again, click Yes.

Step 5) Enable “Remote configuration modification”
Under Permissions, find the checkbox for:

Then click the checkbox to turn it on.

Step 6) Tell us your RustDesk ID and One-time password
On the left side under Your Desktop, you’ll see:
  • ID (a group of numbers)
  • One-time password (a short code)
Please send us both the ID and the One-time password. That’s how we connect and finish the setup.

Once you send us your ID and One-time password, we’ll connect and complete the configuration.
To stop support access at any time: close RustDesk.
